Graduation

What was being left behind? They couldn't figure it out. Trepidation, anticipation, fascination; all foreign to them. They hated it, feared it. They didn't want it ... but at the same time, they couldn't think of anything else they'd rather be doing. Stepping forwards, stepping out, leaving their old selves behind.
